Botanical Gardens

img_7609Today we decided to visit the Botanical Gardens in Tucson. They also had a (tropical) butterfly exhibit which sounded interesting. The butterflies had to be housed in a greenhouse, kept at 85% humidity and 90 degrees F. Teagan really like them and one attempted to eat Teagan, because her shirt looked like a flower!

There were also some cool moths with clear parts on their wings.

The gardens also had a lot of non-native cactus species and even rhizanthium euphorbs! Some  euphorbs, in the subgenus rhizanthium, have evolved cactus-like function, while being unrelated to cacti.  Quite strange!  For the complete picture set go here!img_7626
